Cloud Services

First of all, what are cloud services?  Cloud computing applications require no software to purchase or install and they are easily scalable. They work for business with 5 employees or 5000. Fees for these services are typically subscription based and very affordable.    A cloud service has three distinct characteristics that differentiate it from traditional hosting.   First, it is sold on demand, typically by the user.  Second, it is elastic -- a buyer can have as much or as little of a service as they want at any given time. Third, the service is fully managed by the provider (the consumer needs nothing but a personal computer and Internet access).   Significant innovations in virtualization and distributed computing, as well as improved access to high-speed Internet, have accelerated interest in cloud computing.

A cloud can be private or public. A public cloud sells services to anyone on the Internet. A private cloud computing consists of proprietary equipment that supplies services to a limited number of people.  Private or public, the goal of cloud computing technology is to provide easy, scalable access to computing resources and IT services.

 At Verticomm, we have built a private cloud services platform that allows us to combine industry leading cloud services technologies with our client’s unique legacy technical environments.    For some of our larger clients, we build a private cloud on their premise and utilize our technology management system to manage and support their environment. For others we utilize our Office Everywhere solution for cloud server hosting.  We host our cloud storage services within a 225,000 square foot Tier 4 data center (Note: Tier 4 is the highest possible tier for security and reliability).   Regardless of whether our client’s cloud is on their site or in our data center, Verticomm takes complete responsibility for our entire client’s cloud computing technology needs.
